General Terms & Requirements

Payment

• Prepayment: Scheduled weekly service plans must be prepaid in advance.
  
  
• Invoicing: Invoices for weekly service plans are issued 5 days before the current month ends.
  
  
• Payment Due: Payments are due on the first (1st) day of each month you use our service.
  
  
• Late Payment Policy: Services will be suspended if payments are not received by the fifth (5th) of the month, a resumption fee applied due to increased workload on the next service date.
  
  
• Monthly Rate Calculation: Your monthly rate is calculated by taking you your weekly rate multiplying by 52 weeks, then dividing by 12 months. (Weekly Rate * 52 / 12). Prices are subject to change. We will notify you prior to any future changes.
  
  
• Pro-rated Invoices: New clients will receive a pro-rated invoice for their first month based on the remaining days in the month.
  
  
• Payment Methods: A valid credit card is required, with automatic charges applied on the first day of each month.

Credit Card Policy

Credit card details are encrypted and stored within a third party system using an Amazon Web Services (AWS) storage solution. Your credit card details are inaccessible to Simple Scoop staff. By enrolling in our services, you consent to having your credit card charged monthly.

Late Fees

A $15.00 late fee is applicable for payments overdue by 10 days, with services suspended until payment is received. An initial cleanup fee may be applied to continue service. Accounts over 45 days in arrears will incur a $30 collection fee and may be forwarded to a collections agency.

Amount of Dogs

You must inform Us if there is an increase in dogs living at the residence after beginning to use our service.

Pet and Staff Safety

We love dogs and enjoy meeting your pups, but we generally prefer they be left inside for our visit. We don’t ever want to risk your dog accidentally getting out of the yard and even friendly dogs can become territorial if there is a unknown person in their yard. To ensure safety for everyone, pets should be kept inside during visits. To keep everybody safe, we will remind you we are on our way with a text.

Snow and Hazardous Weather Policy

If hazardous weather prevents us from cleaning your yard in a safe and effective manner, we will contact you to reschedule your service visit or suspend service for that week. If snow exceeds 4 centimetres within 12 hours prior to your scheduled service, we will need to reschedule. The regular weekly fee will apply due to increased workload the following week.

Staff Health

If a member of our staff is ill and unable to work on the day of your scheduled service, we will make every attempt to find another available staff member, or we will attempt to rebook within a day or two. If this isn’t possible, we will need to rebook for the following week. If this happens, the regular weekly fee will apply due to the anticipated increased workload in the subsequent week. This is rare occurrence.

Yard Access

Clients are responsible for ensuring Simple Scoop staff can gain access to your yard. Your gate must be cleared of snow and debris and easily opened by our staff. Obstructions or locked gates will still incur the regular fee due to the increased workload on the next visit, however, the fee for the first such occurrence will be waived. Access through homes is not permitted, a garage or gate must be available to staff.

Yard Conditions

Lawns should be cut on a regular basis. Leaves should be collected in autumn as they make it difficult to see your pet’s waste. Please remember, we can only pickup what we can see. Areas obscured by overgrowth or debris may not be fully serviced, and clients will be notified of such conditions.

Rock and Gravel Areas

Waste removal from rock or gravel areas will have a small charge added.

Exclusions

Areas of dense foliage, beneath trampolines, or behind obstacles posing safety risks are excluded from our service.

Waste Removal Policy

We remove solid waste only. Diarrhea or waste indicating health concerns will not be handled. Clients will be notified if we happen to notice anything strange about your dog’s waste.

Service Suspension

A 48-hour notice is required to pause or cancel service.

Schedule

Services may be altered around certain major holidays. We are closed from Christmas Day to New Year’s Day. The same fee applies during this time due to the increased work load upon returning to service. Weekly scheduled service days are subject to change. We will notify you prior to any future changes to your service day.
